Nutritional
Therapy
Nutritional therapy is a science-based
complementary approach (i.e. working
with the medical profession) which
uses diet,
lifestyle and, if necessary, nutritional
supplements to encourage the body's
natural healing and immune processes.
This in turn boosts energy levels,
improves mental well-being and helps to
achieve optimum health.
Nutritional therapy is
not only a preventative tool but can
also be beneficial for many health
problems including allergies, digestive
and bowel disorders, hormonal
imbalances, fatigue, depression, stress,
auto-immune conditions, weight control
and skin disorders.
Using scientific
nutritional knowledge, Nutritional
Therapists take the whole body into
consideration and address the underlying
causes of a condition, not just the
symptoms in isolation.
The first step for a prospective client is to
complete and return a detailed health
and dietary questionnaire (including a
5-day food diary), in order to provide
as much information as possible about
themselves.
The initial one-to-one consultation with a
Nutritional Therapist lasts
approximately 11/5
hours during which time you will be
provided with an individual Programme
and Action Plan suited to your own
unique requirements whilst addressing
your main health concerns. The
recommendations will be based on a
detailed assessment of your full medical
and family history, your dietary habits
and overall lifestyle. No stone will be
left unturned. Additional information
is provided for you in the form of
factsheets to further explain the health
and dietary issues discussed during the
consultation.
Where necessary, specific
diagnostic tests will also be
recommended in order to identify or
confirm suspected conditions,
intolerances or biochemical imbalances.
All test results are fully explained.
